If you know a young girl who loves to play basketball, the Rockford Park District is hosting a free Jr. WNBA camp this April that they will love to be a part of!

Basketball Obsession

Simply put, my two daughters are completely obsessed with basketball, and somehow my husband and I survived five hectic months of getting two girls to basketball games and practices. Our girls are still sad that another season has come to an end, but I just found something that will turn their basketball-loving frowns upside down.

Free Jr. WNBA Camp in Rockford

Right now many parents throughout the Rockford area are busy searching for camps to send their kids to over summer break, and during my search I found out about the Jr. WNBA Basketball Camp happening at UW Health Sports Factory in Rockford on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

This one-day camp is open to girls of all skill levels between 7 and 11 years old in the Rockford area and will be led by Gene Houston of Maximum Potential Basketball Training, along with local high school and college athletes and coaches.

Camp attendees will engage in high-level skills, drills, and competitive play, but they will also learn about life skills, violence prevention, and nutrition. Plus, local female leaders will be popping in as guest speakers throughout the day, which I think is an awesome way for girls to see what’s possible beyond the court.

And now, here comes the best part: the Jr. WNBA Basketball Camp is completely FREE to attend!

If you know a girl who would love to be a part of the next Jr. WNBA Basketball Camp, make sure to register them here before it fills up!
