The Pittsburgh Penguins scratched Avery Hayes over the last few games of their five-game road trip and Thursday the team re-assigned Hayes to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Hayes, 23, played in 11 games this season with two goals, but was scoreless in his last 10 games.
As part of the roster shuffle, the Penguins recalled defenseman Ryan Graves from his conditioning assignment with WBS.
Graves has split this season between WBS and the Penguins, playing 19 games with the Penguins with one goal (1-0-1). He has played 15 games with WBS, registering 10 points (3-7-10).
Graves has three seasons remaining on the six-year contract with a $4.5 million average annual value he signed on July 1, 2023.
