Both parties have agreed to a one-week period to finalize the terms of the agreement. Once completed, UAB said the new contract will be effective for a multi-year term, providing stability and continued access to high-quality care for patients across the state.
UnitedHealthcare said the agreement will provide continued, uninterrupted network access to UAB. It added that it organizations have extended its current contract through August 8 as the parties work to finalize the terms of a long-term agreement.
The previous health plan contract expired July 31, 2025.
