The Portland Fire have added to their coaching staff, the team announced on Thursday.

Danielle Boiago and Sefu Bernard will join the Fire as assistant coaches.
“I am delighted to add Danielle and Sefu to our coaching staff,” said Portland Fire Head Coach, Alex Sarama. “Danielle and Sefu are committed to athlete-centered coaching and building transformational relationships with our players and staff. Furthermore, they embrace contemporary skill acquisition concepts and the importance of integrating modern principles of play. This is what makes them such a perfect fit for the Fire and the type of environment we will create here in Portland.”
Boiago spent the last three seasons with the Memphis Hustle, the NBA G League team of the Memphis Grizzlies. Boiago was a multi-year starter at McMaster University in Canada. She is the school’s all-time leading scorer.
Bernard has more than 25 years of experience across the WNBA, NBA, and FIBA, the team announced. He served as the Director of Player Development with the Minnesota Lynx last season. He will be an assistant coach and the Director of Learning and Development.
The team also announced that they have hired an Assistant General Manager. Jacob Lloyd joins the Fire after serving as the General Manager of Great Britain Senior Women’s Basketball Team.
The Portland Fire also announced the hiring of several staffers.
