Tiger Woods is back.

The 15-time major winner, who hasn’t played for 13 months after a series of surgeries on his back and to his Achilles, will return to competitive golf Tuesday night as part of his Jupiter Links Golf Club in the TGL Finals.

The team revealed the news with a quote from the 50-year-old simply saying: “I’m back.”

Woods has held a non-playing role with his team during the indoor competition’s season to date. Woods’ team, which also includes Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner, will take on Collin Morikawa’s Los Angeles GC at SoFi Center in Florida. They are down 1-0 in the best-of-3 finals after losing 6-5 on Monday. Match 2 will begin at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN), with Match 3, if necessary, following immediately after.

Woods hasn’t competed in a professional event since July 2024 at the Open Championship, where he missed the cut. He also missed the cut at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open. He made the cut at the Masters that April, which at the time set a record of 24 cuts in a row, but finished last.

Woods had previously refused to rule out a return to Augusta, where he has won five Green Jackets, next month.

“It’s just one of those things where it’s each and every day, I keep trying. I keep progressing. I keep working on it, trying to get stronger, trying to get more endurance in this body and trying to get it at a level at which I can play at the highest level again,” Woods said.

TGL has always been seen as a first step — competitors hit balls into a large video screen, before turning around and chipping and putting on an actual green. In no way does it represent the physical task of walking Augusta National’s hilly course.

Woods is also eligible for the Champions Tour for the first time, where he would be allowed to ride in a cart. He has yet to commit to an event, but has seemed intrigued by the idea of playing against his peers again.
