A young owlet rescued from a Walmart garden center finds solace alongside its sibling at Birds of Prey, where both receive care before their eventual release.
LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Two owlet siblings have been reunited at a wildlife rehabiliation center after falling from a ceiling at Walmart.
Lafayette Police Department said an owlet fell from a nest that had been built inside a Walmart garden center.
Police said the nest was too high to return the bird to and the owlet was taken to Birds of Prey rehabiliation center where it was checked for injury and will receive care until it can be released back into the area.
Police learned another owlet was found in the same area a day earlier and was also taken to Birds of Prey by a citizen and the owlets have been reunited.
“Now, sibling owlets are at least together. Neither was injured from their falls,” police said. “Both will just be cared for until they are mature enough to be released.”
