Valley doctor performs 3,000th robotically-assisted surgery

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A Central Valley physician is being honored for a major career accomplishment.

Saint Agnes Surgeon, Dr. Russell Martin, has performed the 3,000th robotically-assisted surgery.

He is being recognized as one of the highest-volume robotic surgeons on the West Coast.

Dr. Martin was born and raised in the Central Valley.

He treats conditions such as colon cancer, umbilical and hernia repair, gallbladder and esophageal diseases.

Saint Agnes is the first hospital to introduce robotic surgery to the Central Valley.
