In the wake of the Tyson Foods plant closure in Rome, a local healthcare provider is stepping up to support families impacted by the sudden loss of jobs.

Dr. Miniyar announced that the practice will offer free healthcare services for children of former Tyson employees as the community adjusts to the economic impact of the shutdown.“

Our hearts go out to the families affected,” the provider said in a statement. “You do not have to worry about cost—we are here for you. It is our honor and privilege to care for your children during this time.”

Families who were employed by Tyson Foods can access the services by calling the office directly or visiting the provider’s website.

To schedule an appointment online, eligible families can go to Dr. Miniyar Pediatrics website and select the “Free Clinic” section.

The offer comes as many Rome-area families face uncertainty following the plant’s closure, which has left numerous workers without employment.

Community leaders and organizations continue to look for ways to assist those affected, with this healthcare initiative serving as one of the first direct support efforts announced locally.
