Including some unfinished qualifying matches due to rain delays, there is plenty of tennis scheduled for Tuesday at the Tiriac Open, an ATP 250 event in Bucharest. LWOT previews the matches, including another article featuring Sebastian Baez vs Vilius Gaubas.

ATP Bucharest Day 2 Predictions
Francesco Maestrelli vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head-to-head: First meeting

Maestrelli went on a tear at the ATP Challenger Tour level towards the end of 2025 and into this season. The Italian will have a bigger challenge to overcome at Tour-level, as he’s looking for a second ATP Tour main-draw win this season. Van de Zandschulp hasn’t had the best campaign in 2026, but he is consistent on clay courts and should have the answers for the underdog.
Prediction: Van De Zandschulp in 2

Damir Dzumhur vs Filip Cristian Jianu

Head-to-head: First meeting

Jianu reached a career-high ranking of No. 210 last season, months after he claimed his first Tour-level win at the 2025 edition of this tournament. He’ll have some points to defend and pressure to face, as he’s been largely battling at the ITF-level. Dzumhur has had a rough road in 2026, with a 3-9 record, and has faced puzzling losses to lower-ranked opponents. The pressure of backing up a big result may be a challenge for Jianu, but it should be a close one.
Prediction: Dzumhur in 3

Roberto Bautista Agut vs Titouan Droguet

Head-to-head: First meeting

At 37 years old, Bautista Agut continues to be a dependable and consistent ballstriker on court. He’s been winning the matches he’s supposed to against lower-ranked players, but making a big leap in a tournament has been a challenge for the veteran. Against Droguet, who is 2-3 on clay courts at Tour-level in his career, Bautista Agut should be too solid.
Prediction: Bautista Agut in 2

Daniel Altmaier vs Pedro Martinez

Head-to-head: Martinez 2-0

Altmaier’s one-handed backhand is a weapon to watch, and his patient ballstriking makes him a strength on clay. However, Martinez has been grinding on clay courts all season, sitting out the Sunshine Double hard-court swing. Altmaier just reached the final of an ATP Challenger Tour event in Naples, on clay, meaning some fatigue could carry over. Picking the upset, with Martinez feeling more refreshed.
Prediction: Martinez in 3
