Manchester United continue to be linked with potential goalkeeping additions after two shaky seasons for Andre Onana between the sticks.
When Manchester United said goodbye to David De Gea in 2023, fans were hoping to see his replacement enjoy similar longevity.
The Spaniard spent more than a decade at Old Trafford, racking up more than 500 appearances for the club.
United snapped up Andre Onana to replace De Gea, as Erik ten Hag chose to reunite with his former Ajax goalkeeper.
Onana excelled for Inter as they reached the Champions League final, but his time with United has been significantly trickier.
The Cameroonian stopper has never quite convinced with his handling, committing a series of errors during his two years at the club.

Unsurprisingly, under-fire Onana has been linked away from Old Trafford in recent times.
Monaco showed an interest in Onana earlier this summer, but the Ligue 1 side have backed away over the course of the transfer window.
Onana has since picked up an injury, and he is now pushing to be fit for the start of the Premier League season.
United have also been linked with a number of new goalkeepers this summer, with Onana potentially even available on loan.
United boss Amorim has now discussed Onana and is actually backing the stopper to improve this season.
Speaking to The Athletic, Amorim suggested that Onana is ‘going to be better’ this season, seemingly believing that he will take more confidence alongside his teammates.
Amorim praised Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton as well, believing that his goalkeepers are all pushing each other to improve ahead of the new season.
“I think even when you talk about Andre, you can see the goalkeepers. Even Tom is leaner, he’s a different goalkeeper. Altay did really well, and Onana is going to be better, like the other guys, this year,” said Amorim.
Goalkeeping rumours linger around Andre Onana
Amorim is publicly backing Onana, and may well believe that a better season is on the horizon once he returns from injury.
United fans may not buy it, though, especially with such strong goalkeeping rumours swirling around.
Reports just a matter of days ago again suggested that United fancy Gianluigi Donnarumma, with Paris Saint-Germain expecting a bid.
The Italian stopper certainly wouldn’t join United as backup to Onana, so any move would be with first-choice action in mind, potentially bumping Onana down the pecking order.
United also fancy Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens, though potentially as second-choice amid rumours suggesting Bayindir could move on.
United’s ideal scenario may be to sign both Donnarumma and Lammens, with Onana and Bayindir moving on, but completing all four deals looks to be a big ask in the final month of the window.
