Ten more first-round matches will be concluded on Day 2 of the WTA 250 in Bogota. Among those to take to the court will be American lefty Robin Montgomery, who will play her first match since Wimbledon last June. Who will reach the second round?

WTA Bogota Day 2 Predictions
Varvara Lepchenko vs Lia Karatancheva

Head-to-head: Lepchenko 1-0 Karatancheva

The fact that Varvara Lepchenko has been a Top 200 mainstay and she’s about to celebrate her 40th birthday is quite remarkable. But at the WTA level, wins have been scarce for the veteran and her last win in Bogota was in 2019. Karatancheva lost to Lepchenko in their only career meeting at an ITF event two seasons ago, but the Bulgarian came through qualifying and should be accustomed to the conditions ahead of her main draw debut.
Prediction: Karatancheva in 3

Francesca Jones vs Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales

Head-to-head: first meeting

This match carries some extra narrative. It was in Bogota where Jones enjoyed that breakthrough run to the semifinals three years ago and most tennis fans became aware of her rare genetic condition. Jones retired from her last tournament in Miami because of illness, but had reasons to be happy after beating her idol, Venus Williams, in the first round. Maristany Zuleta De Reales is a player who will look to probe Jones’ fitness after the Brit’s recent retirement. The Spaniard brings steadier physicality and clay comfort, and has played six matches on the surface this season.
Prediction: Maristany Zuleta De Reales in 3

Anna Blinkova vs Robin Montgomery

Head-to-head: first meeting

Blinkova has two wins from her last 10 matches. She is now two spots away from leaving the Top 100 for the first time since 2022. Montgomery played 21 times in 2025 and shut down her season after Wimbledon to undergo surgery. Despite Blinkova’s form struggles, this should be a very comfortable opener against an opponent who will be looking to shake off some rust after a long absence.
Prediction: Blinkova in 2
