INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Circle City Broadcasting on March 31 closed its deal to acquire WRTV, expanding the locally owned company’s reach across Indiana.

The $83 million transaction was first announced in October. With the deal complete, WRTV joins Circle City Broadcasting’s growing media portfolio, which includes WISH-TV, MyINDY-TV 23, Circulus Digital Media, Circle City Broadcasting Entertainment and the All Indiana Podcast Network.

The addition of WRTV expands Circle City Broadcasting’s presence across television, digital and audio platforms and brings another established local news brand under the company’s umbrella.

Together, the combined platforms deliver expanded content, broader audience reach and new opportunities across Indiana.

WRTV’s addition brings ABC’s high-profile programming — including major live sports and entertainment — complimenting WISH-TV’s local news coverage, WNDY’s live local and regional sports programming, and the company’s broader digital operations.

The move reinforces Circle City Broadcasting’s long-term commitment to being locally owned and operated while continuing to grow its presence in television, digital media and emerging platforms.

The deal closed following FCC approval.
