A crash on Wednesday knocked out power for hundreds of people along Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

Duke Energy’s outage map showed 19 customers without power as of 4 a.m. The number affected dropped from 400 customers earlier this morning. 

Most outages were restored by 5 a.m.

Raleigh police responded to a driver who ran into a utility pole at Glenwood Avenue and E. Whitaker Mill Road, in the Five Points community.

The crash closed the road where a pole was seen split in half and a car appeared seriously damaged on a sidewalk. Police say there were no serious injuries and the driver was not believed to be intoxicated.  

Duke Energy crews were called to restore power for at least 400 people in the area impacted.
