OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha metro drivers faced a soggy Thursday morning commute with potential for slick conditions.
Numerous crashes were reported during rounds of rain and storms in the metro. At about 6:30 a.m., there was a crash on westbound I-80 near 42nd Street.

Shortly after 7:15 a.m., a crash on southbound JFK near Q Street partially blocked the left lane. Drivers were forced to stay right and face slow travel.
Near the end of the 7 o’clock hour, westbound Dodge had a crash between 120th and 132nd. It resulted in heavy delays along the elevated expressway back to I-680.
Eastbound Dodge also had a crash blocking the left lane near 156th at that time. Drivers were advised to consider an alternate route such as Blondo or Pacific.
Jaret Lansford writes in the First Alert 6 Traffic blog that as of 8:30 a.m., all crashes on Dodge, JFK, and I-80 were cleared.
Lastly, at the tail end of the morning commute, there was a crash on westbound I-80 at the I-480 interchange. It happened at about 8:45 a.m. and caused the left lane to be blocked.

Lansford warned drivers to use caution Thursday morning at intersections, on ramps and curves. He says that travel was the worst from about 6:30 to 8 a.m., which lined up pretty well with the heaviest rain in the commute.
