Jack Black is not getting the band back together … telling us Tenacious D still isn’t reuniting for a new project despite reports to the contrary.
We caught up with the voice of Bowser himself in New York City Thursday afternoon … and we asked him when we can expect to see TD pumping out new projects.
JB says he and Kyle Gass have no plans to work on anything new … so, put your ‘Picks of Destiny’ down, fans — there’s nothing to strum along to.
We seem to be getting mixed messages from the band … because Gass himself told Rolling Stone back in January the band would be back, and the reunion would “be bigger than Oasis.” It seems he may have just been talking about a nebulous future — nothing concrete.

As you know … the band has been on hiatus since July 2024 — when Gass told the Tenacious D audience he wished President Donald Trump had been killed during the Butler, Pennsylvania assassination attempt. Tenacious D immediately canceled future tour dates, and Gass has expressed remorse for his remarks in subsequent interviews.
We also asked Jack about a little controversy his costar, Charlie Day, stirred up by cracking a Luigi Mangione joke during a recent interview … watch the clip all the way through to hear his response.
