Sources confirmed to ScoopDuck Oregon defensive lineman Tony Cumberland is expected to miss the rest of Spring football.

Cumberland was involved in an automobile accident this week and suffered some injuries which will prevent him from participating in the rest of Spring ball. His availability beyond that is not clear as of this time. Our sources confirmed it was too early to speak on anything definitive beyond the Spring.

(Note: Cumberland was not the driver of the vehicle.)

He is reported to be in great condition minus the injuries preventing him from football activities and is not in the hospital.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder signed with Oregon out of Willamette (Ore.) high school as part of the 2026 class. He was ranked as the No. 63 overall player nationally in the Rivals Industry Rankings. Cumberland was ranked the No. 5 defensive lineman nationally. He was part of an Oregon class that ranked No. 4 nationally among all college programs.

Dan Lanning was a big winner in roster retention this offseason. He was able to keep all of his starting defensive lineman, which were all expected to be NFL draft picks this year. Meaning Cumberland was expected to be in a reserve role when the season began.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
