The processor is set to launch in nearly two weeks, but early listings have already started to surface.

AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition CPU Appears on Canadian and UK Retailers, Starting at $958 and $1196, respectively

AMD’s new flagship Zen 5 chip is arriving on April 22, but it has already started appearing on some retailers. Keep in mind that these are not final or official prices and appear to be placeholders instead. As far as the listings are concerned, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition can be seen on multiple UK and Canadian retailers.

Popular Canadian retailer, PC-Canada.com, has listed the new CPU at a whopping CAD $1,373.99, which translates to around US$984. This is almost a thousand dollars, which is nearly $300 higher than the launch price of its smaller sibling, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Nonetheless, the prices are subject to change as AMD hasn’t revealed the processor’s official price tag yet. Similarly, another Canadian store, ShopRBC, listed the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual edition for CAD $1,375, which is around US$986.

A list of AMD processors on a web page shows the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 5.7GHz 16-Core AM5 Processor priced at $907.96 with a quantity of 1442, among other models such as the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2GHz 8-Core AM5 Processor priced at $500.96 with a quantity of 10403.Image Credit: @momomo_us

In both cases, the CPUs aren’t available for purchase due to the embargo. The processor also appeared at a UK retailer called Gamingkit.co.uk, but there are two different price tags mentioned on the page: one shows £905.82, which translates to around US$1196, but the description shows a price tag of £725.4, which is roughly US$954. It doesn’t matter which one is correct since it’s subject to change. However, it appears as if the latter price tag excludes the VAT.

The webpage of GamingKit displays the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 priced at £905.82, listed as 'In Stock' with an 'Add to Basket' option.

A table displays detailed product information with SKU '100-100001978WOF,' Price '£725.54,' EAN '0730143318327,' and Manufacturer 'AMD.'

As per our speculation, AMD can price the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 high since there is no competitor and considering it’s the first chip to feature dual X3D chiplets, it’s marketed as a premium chip that offers a noticeable jump in gaming and productivity performance. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D was launched at $699, and the Ryzen 9950X3D2 Dual Edition won’t likely launch for any less than $799 and can possibly go higher.

Ryzen 9950X3D2 Dual Edition, apart from bringing a total cache of 208 MB, also brings a higher TDP rating of 200W. The processor will officially see the retail launch on April 22 and will likely appear on more retailers before the launch.
