DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in Garrett on Sunday.
According to the office, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of County Road 52 around 7 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates that an SUV was eastbound when it went off the roadway for an unknown reason, struck a utility pole, rolled, and came to rest in high water due to flooding.
The office says the driver, identified as 25-year-old Tristan Boyles of Kendallville, was extracted from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
