The Florida Gators held their second and last scrimmage of the spring on Saturday and several prospects were in town to watch that scrimmage.
Defensive back Jayden Aparicio-Bailey (6-2, 195, Prattville, AL. High) was one of those guys on campus and he wanted to see the coaches in action.
“It was good,” Bailey said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I like the coaches’ personalities; you know I like them as a person. I wanted to see how they coach a spring practice, how they coach in the meeting room. It was good seeing that from Coach [Chris] Collins and Coach [Brandon] Harris.”
Bailey was impressed by the scrimmage and liked how the coaching staff got everyone involved in the scrimmage.
“It was good, both offense and defense were super competitive,” he said of the scrimmage. “I like the atmosphere, a lot of guys got reps, even the three’s and two’s, all of them got reps. So there’s opportunities I would get are there. It was good to see Coach Collins and Coach Harris coach.”
Saturday was also an opportunity for Bailey to see how the players fit into the defense and he believes the system is one that helps the current players.
“I feel like the defensive backs they have are in a good position with the system,” Bailey said of the defensive backs. “Seeing that today with them getting picks, more vision teams so you can play the ball in the air, and I seen that today. The young guys really know the system, the system is really easy to learn, easy to pick up on so seeing those guys play fast with it, it was good to see.”
One thing that Bailey wanted to accomplish this weekend was finding out where the Gators want him at as he wants to play corner at the next level.
“It was good, I asked some questions, I wanted to hear like what I need to work on if I came here, where they see me at, all that stuff,” he said on talking with the coaches. “I had real conversations with Coach Collins and Coach Harris too. I want to be a corner when I start off because of my position flexibility.”
Harris and Collins let Bailey know that he would start out at corner and that helped the Gators rise in his recruitment.
“Most definitely did, I wanted to see where they stand on that [playing corner] because some schools just see my safety film,” Bailey said on if today’s visit helped them out. “It really helped Florida.”
