BOSTON (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten tossed a scoreless inning of relief in the Boston Red Sox 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres on Saturday.
Slaten threw 19 pitches, 11 for strikes.
Slaten entered the game in the seventh inning. He got Fernando Tatis Jr. to strike out and Ramon Laureano to fly out for the first two outs of the inning. After allowing a single to Miguel Andujar, Slaten got Manny Machado to ground out to end the inning.
Slaten has not allowed a run in 3 1/3 innings pitched this season.
The Red Sox lost Sunday to the Padres, 8-6, and dropped to 2-7 on the year. Boston welcomes the Milwaukee Brewers to town on Monday to begin a three-game series.
