80 min: Birmingham 0-1 Manchester City A stinging shot from Yui Hasegawa is fumbled onto the crossbar by Lucy Thomas. Moments later, Khiara Keating comes miles out of her area to clear a loose ball and clatters Lily Crosthwaite in her follow through. The referee was happy that it was a fair challenge.

Half time: Swansea 2-1 Middlesbrough

That was a highly entertaining first half in south west Wales. Alex Bangura blasted Middlesbrough ahead before conceding the first of two penalties with which Zan Vipotnik put Swansea ahead. Vipotnik, the Championship’s leading scorer, now has 20 league goals this season.

Another nerveless penalty from Zan Vipotnik. On both occasions he has waited for Brynn to sit down before passing the ball into the other side of the net.

SharePenalty for Swansea!

Another penalty for Swansea on the stroke of half-time. Sol Brynn comes way out of goal and puts hands on Ji-Sung Eom, who accepts the invitation to go down. It was such a silly challenge from Brynn and, though Eom made the most of it, it was a pretty clear penalty.

TheMiddlesbrough goalscorer Bangura wipes out Liam Cullen in the area, a stonewall penalty. The Championship’s leading scorer Zan Vipotnik calmly sends Sol Brynn the wrong way from the spot; that’s his 19th league goal of the season.

34 min: Birmingham 0-1 Man City Manchester City remain firmly in control at St Andrew’s. Bunny Shaw’s early goal was a beauty: a killer cross/pass from Iman Beney, a great off-the-ball run from Shaw and a clinical finish.
