Pundits Make Cases for Ravens to Trade for A.J. Brown, Dexter Lawrence

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence are both subjects of trade speculation, and the Ravens continue to be named among the potential landing spots for both star players.

NFL.com’s Matt Okada proposed the Ravens send their first- and third-round picks to the Eagles for Brown.

“Daniel Jeremiah recently mocked Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson to the Ravens at No. 14 overall, but what if GM Eric DeCosta could land an already proven No. 1 with that same pick?” Okada wrote. “Brown would be the best receiver Jackson has played with to date and upgrade the role played by DJ Moore in [new Offensive Coordinator] Declan Doyle’s offense in Chicago.”

NFL.com’s Kevin Patra made a case for the Ravens to pursue Lawrence, who has reportedly requested a trade.

“Trading for Lawrence would give them another pass-rush force to play with under new HC Jesse Minter,” Patra wrote. “After Baltimore struggled to get after the quarterback, a duo of Hendrickson and Lawrence would make the Ravens’ front exponentially more menacing. Lawrence’s ability to get into the backfield would also allow Minter to get pressure without sending extra rushers.

“Baltimore has a trove of draft picks (11) to toss at the Giants, and has the salary-cap space to make the trade work. The uncertain future of Nnamdi Madubuike could also incentivize the Ravens to make a big move to solidify the middle.”
