Police identify man killed in overnight Hartwell shooting

THE CORONER JUST ARRIVING ON SCENE OF A DEADLY SHOOTING IN HARTWELL. A NEIGHBORHOOD HAS YELLOW TAPE AROUND IT THIS MORNING. AND WE DO KNOW THAT AT LEAST ONE PERSON WAS SHOT AND KILLED. THIS ALL HAPPENED AROUND 4:00 THIS MORNING ALONG THE CAMP AVENUE, WHICH IS WHERE WE FIND WLWT NEWS FIVE’S RICHARD CHILES WHO HAS THE LATEST FOR US? RICHARD. NOW, CINCINNATI POLICE ARE NOT RELEASING THE NAME OF THAT VICTIM PENDING NOTIFICATION OF NEXT OF KIN. THEY ARE CONFIRMING ONE PERSON SHOT AND KILLED HERE IN DEKALB AROUND 345 THIS MORNING. NOW, TECHNICIANS FROM THE CRIME SCENE LAB ARE HERE PROCESSING BALLISTICS INFORMATION AND GATHERING EVIDENCE, AS WELL AS THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION SECTION. THEY’VE NOW TAKEN THE LEAD IN THIS INVESTIGATION. DISTRICT FOUR OFFICERS RESPONDING TO REPORTS OF SHOTS FIRED. RIGHT NOW, WE DO KNOW THAT ONE INDIVIDUAL COOPERATING WITH POLICE, DESCRIBED AS A PERSON OF INTEREST. POLICE ARE NOT CALLING THAT PERSON A SUSPECT IN THIS INCIDENT, BUT ARE SAYING THEY HAVE DETAINED ONE INDIVIDUAL. NOW AT THIS TIME, NOT A LOT OF MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AS POLICE CONTINUE THEIR ONGOING INVESTIGATION. THEY CONTINUE TO PROCESS THE SCENE AGAIN. A man is dead after an overnight shooting in Hartwell.It happened around 4 a.m. along De Camp Avenue.Cincinnati police’s Criminal Investigation Section is taking the lead in the investigation.Police have identified the man who died as Robert Andrews, 40.One person, described as a person of interest, is cooperating with the investigation.
