More WNBA free agency shakeups continue for the Seattle Storm, as another player is reportedly departing the team ahead of the 2026 season.
Brittney Sykes has allegedly agreed to terms to join the Toronto Tempo, her agent Marcus Crenshaw told ESPN’s Alexa Philippou. The news comes after Nneka Ogwumike announced her departure on social media Thursday night.

Her sister, ESPN analyst Chiney Ogwumike, also said on social media that she intends to re-sign with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Both departures come as the negotiation period of free agency is underway, with players allowed to sign contracts beginning Saturday, according to ESPN.
While neither Ogwumike and Sykes was listed on the Storm’s roster on the team’s official website Friday morning, Sykes was still listed on ESPN’s version of the roster. Ogwumike was not listed on either version of the team roster.
Sykes, the 5-foot-9 guard, is coming off the first All-Star nod of her career as the four-time all-defensive team selection averaged 14.1 points, 4.0 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game last season, which she began with the Washington Mystics before moving to the Storm at the trade deadline. Before her time with the Mystics, Sykes — the No. 7 overall 2017 draft pick from Syracuse — played for the Atlanta Dream and Sparks.
