TWO YEARS LATER, A THREE JUDGE PANEL SENTENCED HIM TO DEATH. JONES WAS FOUND GUILTY FOR THE MURDERS OF MICHELLE EBELING, JANET AND JEANNE TWYFORD AND THEIR DAUGHTER, DANA. THAT WAS IN 2022. LAUREL, NEBRASKA. HIS WIFE, CARRIE JONES, WAS RECENTLY SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR HELPING HER HUSBAND IN THE QUADRUPLE HOMICIDE. THEY WERE BOTH ACCUSED OF TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE AND ARSON BECAUSE THEY SET FIRE TO THE HOMES OF THE VICTIMS. NEBRASKA ATTORNEY GENERAL MIKE HILDRETH CALLS THE DECISION A WELL-REASONED ORDER, AN APPROPRIATE SENTENCE BASED ON THE FACTS PROVIDED IN THE CASE. THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS OVERSIGHT SAYS THIS DECISION IS RARE TO SEE. IT’S CERTAINLY PRETTY RARE TO HAVE SOMEBODY SENTENCED TO THE DEATH PENALTY. THIS WILL BE OUR 12TH. A three-judge panel returned a death sentence for the man convicted in a quadruple homicide in Nebraska.

In 2024, Jason Jones was found guilty by a jury on multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, in the deaths of Michelle Ebeling, Janet Twiford, Gene Twiford, and their daughter Dana Twiford.

“We are grateful for the work of the three-judge panel and their thorough and well-reasoned order.
