When Amad and Mbeumo spoke to journalists in Ireland, the former offered a glowing appraisal of Carrick, saying: “It’s not for us as a player to decide for his future but he’s been very great, he’s been doing so much for the team, he has a lot of experience and he knows the club, he has the DNA so we think he’s the right man but we are really happy for what he’s doing right now,” he said.
“I think since he’s arrived in the club, he’s been clear to everyone that he wants to win, he wants the Champions League next season and he’s been working with each player so he’s doing very well and we are really happy to have him as a manager.”
