The Seattle Storm have already made some significant changes during WNBA free agency. Seattle lost Nneka Ogwumike to Los Angeles as well as Gabby Williams, who signed a long-term contract with Golden State. Fortunately, the Storm were able to hold onto one of their young stars during free agency.
The Storm announced that they have re-signed forward Ezi Magbegor on Sunday, per ESPN’s Alexa Philippou. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Magbegor was a 2023 WNBA All-Star and has been selected to the league’s all-defensive team four times. She joined Seattle in 2020 and has spent her entire career with the Storm.
Seattle published a press release on Sunday to announce the good news to fans.
“When I think of home, I think of Seattle. I’m so excited to be back in a city and with an organization that means so much to me. As I continue my career, I’m excited to grow with this team in front of our amazing Storm fans,” Magbegor said in the statement.
Magbegor reached a career milestone in 2025 when she surpassed 1,000 career rebounds.
The Storm will be counting on Magbegor to provide some consistency in their starting lineup in 2026. Seattle will welcome some new faces next season, including guard Natisha Hiedeman and veteran Erica Wheeler. The Storm also signed two-time All-Star Stefanie Dolson to a two-year contract.
Magbegor should have a huge role moving forward in Seattle alongside youngster Dominique Malonga.
Next up for the Storm is the 2026 WNBA Draft. Seattle boasts two first-round picks, selecting at both 3rd and 14th overall.
It will be exciting to see which players Seattle adds to their retooled roster.
