Mark Andy’s European Technology Center hosted its latest Students Open Day on March 26, welcoming approximately 120 students from four high schools across Kalisz, Warsaw, and Zielonka.

The event, part of an ongoing initiative to support workforce development in the printing industry, introduced students to label and packaging production, key market trends, and hands-on experience with modern press technologies.

The program featured live demonstrations of three Mark Andy platforms, including the Evolution Series E5 flexo press, the Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 hybrid inkjet system, and the Digital Series Pro Plus toner-based press. Presentations also addressed industry trends such as the growing role of hybrid technologies, RFID integration, and the Digital Product Passport.

Students also participated in workshop sessions simulating real production workflows, including plate mounting, job setup, registration, and press operation. An interactive highlight allowed participants to print personalized labels.

“Students Open Day is an important initiative for us in building relationships with the younger generation and supporting the development of skills within the industry,” says Przemyslaw Polkowski, director, Mark Andy Poland. “We see a strong need for education in the field of labels and packaging, and through events like this, we want to show young people that this is a modern, dynamic sector offering wide opportunities for professional growth, specialist knowledge development, research, and working with innovative technologies. We are pleased with the strong interest in the event and the active engagement of participants, who had the chance to see what modern label production looks like in practice.”

Mark Andy says the initiative is designed to build awareness of career opportunities in label and packaging production while helping develop the next generation of skilled industry professionals.
