In January 2026, deputies from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motion-activated alarm call at a business in the area of Highway 561 and Main Street in Hollister.
According to a press release from Maj. Anzell M. Harris, upon arrival, deputies noticed damage to the front door. Deputy C. Estes and Sgt. C. Sherrod conducted a protective sweep of the conjoined businesses and noticed broken cash registers on the floor.
Approximately $544 in cash was reported stolen.
After reviewing surveillance footage, Detective Sgt. I. Miller identified the suspect as Lee Quan Richardson, 28, of Hollister.
Detective Sgt. Miller obtained warrants for his arrest for breaking and or entering, larceny after breaking/entering, injury to personal property, and injury to real property.
At approximately 1 a.m. on April 13, Cpl. G. Caine arrested and served the outstanding warrants on Richardson. He was given a $6,000 bond with an April 22 court date.
