The NBA playoffs are set to kick off this weekend. While many have their eyes on the highly anticipated postseason, the NBA offseason is set to be a doozy.

The NBA offseason is always one that hardly ever disappoints, and with big names set to make some noise, this summer is no exception.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, three of the biggest names in the league could find new teams next season: Lakers‘ LeBron James, Clippers‘ Kawhi Leonard and Bucks‘ Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“The Lakers’ LeBron James. The Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard. And, of course, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo. Expect to hear lots about their futures all spring,” Stein wrote. “NBA free agency certainly isn’t what it once was, as we’ve chronicled here numerous times, given how common it has become for so many top players to seek and sign contract extensions that spare them from having to test the open market. Yet there is a growing anticipation in numerous front offices, league sources say, that two or even all three of the above marquee names could land with new teams next season.”

Multiple NBA Stars Facing Unclear Futures

James is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and his future with the Lakers is unclear. Although he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, James has shown that he has a lot left in the tank. Whether that will be in the purple and gold is uncertain.

As for Leonard, there are a ton of factors that could drive him away from the Clippers. From the ongoing NBA investigation into his contract, potential salary cap circumvention allegations, and the Clippers’ shift toward a younger roster, the 34-year-old’s days in L.A. could be numbered.

As for Antetokounmpo, his future in Milwaukee has been the topic of discussion for almost a year. The 31-year-old has been at the forefront of trade rumors, and this summer could be the time when the two sides part ways.

The Bucks parted ways with Doc Rivers on the final day of the regular season, so it could be a sign of big changes to come in Milwaukee. However, whether those big changes will involve Antetokounmpo remains to be seen.
