Interstate 70 is shut down at Eisenhower Tunnel after a crash involving more than 75 vehicles, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Interstate 70 is closed in both directions at the Eisenhower Tunnel due to a large multi-vehicle crash.

Just after 3:30 p.m., the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said 75 or more vehicles were involved in a crash on the Highway 6 East onramp to I-70 East at mile marker 216, which is near Loveland Ski Area. 

The sheriff’s office said there are injuries, but unclear on how many people are injured.

The Colorado State Patrol is advising drivers to find alternate routes. For updated closure information, visit COTrip’s website.
