The WTA action continues to build in Rouen as the tournament moves into its third day, with the indoor clay beginning to separate those comfortable on the surface from those still searching for rhythm. A mix of experience and emerging talent shapes the slate, creating matchups that feel far less predictable than they might appear on paper. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?Â
WTA Rouen Day 3 Predictions
Oleksandra Oliynykova vs Lilli Tagger
Head-to-Head: First meeting
Oliynykova has shown mixed form this season. Her highlight was a semifinal run at the Transylvania Open, though she struggled in Charleston, losing to Polina Kudermetova after taking the first set. Tagger, however, arrives with real momentum. The teenager reached her first WTA quarterfinal on clay at the Linz Open as a wild card, beating former world No. 2 Paula Badosa and upsetting third seed Liudmila Samsonova. That run highlighted her quality and mental strength on the surface. Oliynykova holds the experience edge, but Tagger’s sharp clay game and current confidence make her dangerous.
Prediction: Tagger in 3
Tatjana Maria vs Elsa Jacquemot
Head-to-Head: Jacquemot 1–0 Maria
The pair met in September 2025 at Guadalajara, where Jacquemot won in three sets. Maria has found clay tough at WTA level lately, managing just a 1-5 record on the surface over the past 52 weeks. Jacquemot has been inconsistent too, sitting at 2-8 in 2026 with no clay matches yet this year. Still, her head-to-head win, home crowd support, and solid clay results at WTA 125 and ITF level give her the advantage. Maria’s slice can cause issues, but her lack of recent wins suggests it will be hard to flip this matchup.
Prediction: Jacquemot in 3
Marta Kostyuk vs Caty McNally
Head-to-Head: First meeting
Kostyuk started strong in Rouen, beating Diane Parry in straight sets in just 78 minutes while breaking serve five times. As the top seed, she boasts an impressive 80-41 career clay record that shows real pedigree on the surface. McNally fought back from a set down to defeat Katie Volynets in a match with plenty of swings. The American is resilient and holds a 46-33 career clay record, but Kostyuk’s level in her opener looked a step above. With no prior meetings, recent form and overall completeness point clearly one way.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 2
