As the Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up their pre-draft visits, one big name is set to come in on Wednesday. Per NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the Steelers are hosting Penn State QB Drew Allar for a visit today.

Allar is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he’s projected to be a Day 2 or early Day 3 selection. Once considered a potential first-round pick, Allar did not have the college production to match his traits, though he did lead Penn State to the College Football Playoff semifinals in 2024. He suffered a season-ending injury in his sixth start in 2026, breaking his left ankle, but he should be ready for offseason workouts.

The Steelers hosted his Penn State teammate, OG Olaivavega Ioane, for a pre-draft visit yesterday. The team also brought in Penn State TE Khalil Dinkins for a pre-draft visit.

At Penn State, Allar started 45 games in four seasons and threw for 7,402 yards and 61 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. Our scouting report was high on Allar, with Tom Mead giving him an 8.2 (longtime starter) grade and comparing him to Byron Leftwich.

With Allar coming in today, the Steelers will have hosted four quarterbacks for pre-draft visits. Miami [FL] QB Carson Beck, North Dakota State QB Cole Payton and Arkansas QB Taylen Green have met with the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers haven’t received a decision from QB Aaron Rodgers on whether he’ll play next season, and the team is doing its due diligence on quarterback options. While members of the organization, including head coach Mike McCarthy, have spoken highly about Will Howard, it doesn’t seem as if the Steelers’ fondness for Howard will preclude them from potentially selecting a quarterback.

All the quarterbacks Pittsburgh has hosted are projected to be taken in the Day 2 or early Day 3 range. With three third-round picks, that could be a sweet spot for the Steelers when it comes to selecting a quarterback. The Steelers have 12 draft picks and given their pre-draft interest and Combine meetings with quarterbacks, it seems safe to say that it will be a position the team targets next week.

Today is the last day teams will host players for pre-draft visits, and Allar likely won’t be alone during his Steelers visit, though other names visiting the team have yet to be reported.
