Texas A&M’s explosive offense turned some heads in 2025, and the Aggies have been seen as a force with offensive playmakers across the country. On Wednesday, the momentum turned into a commitment as Leesburg (GA) Lee County wide receiver Jaden Upshaw‍ announced his Texas A&M decision.

The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound standout has been a long-time target for the Aggies. He received his A&M offer in August of 2025, with Trooper Taylor and Holmon Wiggins leading the Aggies’ recruiting efforts. On Wednesday, Upshaw chose the Aggies over fellow finalists Alabama, Florida and Miami.

A high-level national target, his size quickly draws attention, but his blend of physicality, football IQ and explosive athleticism holds it. A punishing blocker and ball carrier, an efficient route runner known for creating and finding space, he can make defenders miss in the open field, run through them after the catch and has the burst to separate for the score.

With his commitment, Upshaw becomes the Aggies’ 12th addition of the 2027 recruiting class and the first wide receiver in the class. He joins Georgia standout prospects QB Jayce Johnson‍, S Kamarui Dorsey‍ and DT Elijah Patmon‍ in the class.

In addition to A&M and his other finalists, he also held offers from the likes of Auburn, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and USC, and he is widely regarded as a four-star prospect and one of the top recruits in Georgia.

As a junior in 2025, Upshaw recorded 45 receptions for 903 yards and eight touchdowns, and he capped the season by competing at the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
