EVERETT — A fatal collision involving a car and a semitruck has blocked Highway 9 near the 84th Street Northeast roundabout Wednesday near Marysville.

Around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a fatal collision near milepost 21, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding.

The roadway is closed with no estimate for reopening while law enforcement and emergency crews investigate, said Harding on social media. Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Division are also on scene assisting the investigation.

First responders transported a passenger to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Harding said.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said the collision occurred in Lake Stevens on social media. Harding said the collision was closer to Marysville.
