GRAY, Maine (WGME) — The Maine Wildlife Park in Gray is opening for the season on Wednesday.
The park is operated by the state and is home to more than 30 native Maine wildlife species that can no longer live in the wild.
Officials say some of the animals live at the park because they were injured or orphaned, and others because they are human dependent – raised, sometimes illegally, in captivity.
