The Colorado Avalanche (54-16-11) complete their regular season at home against the Seattle Kraken (34-36-11). Puck drop is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. MT. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Key Stories to Watch
With one game remaining on the calendar, the Avalanche are resting several starters. Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas skipped morning skate and will not play. There is one more forward that is likely going to rest and it could be team captain Gabe Landeskog. Jason Polin and Alex Barre-Boulet were called up to fill out the lineup.
Nazem Kadri and Josh Manson were both on the ice for morning skate but both will miss the season finale with upper-body injuries. Head coach Jared Bednar said they’ll be available for Game 1.
The Avs will close the season with Scott Wedgewood between the pipes. Wedgewood entered the season as the backup but will make his team-leading 43rd start. He is 30-6-6 and leads the league in save percentage (.920) and goals-against average (2.10).
If Colorado collects just one point, the 2025-26 regular season will be the best in franchise history. The Avs have 119 points, matching the total from 2021-22 and narrowly ahead of the 2000-01 team’s 118. Both of those teams ended up winning the Stanley Cup.
As long as the Avs avoid a regulation loss, it’ll be the first time in franchise history that they have fewer than 10 regulation losses both at home and on the road in a full season.
