Did anybody notice that Hungarian strongman Viktor Orbán — a favorite of President Donald Trump — was voted out of office?

What I found interesting is that there were no cries of a stolen election and no instigated attack on the capital by an egotistical narcissist. The Hungarian people should be commended. Only a few decades removed from the Soviet Bloc and with no long tradition of peaceful transfer of power, the people and democracy won.

We, on the other hand, put a convicted felon back in the White House. We now have protesters being killed, journalists being jailed, arrests being made without due process and free speech being curtailed.

In my view, President Trump doesn’t want to be a king or a dictator but he does want to be president for life. With the Jan. 6, 2021, rioters getting pardons and commutations, I fear that Trump is laying the groundwork for another coup attempt.

Fasten your seat belt. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
