Napheesa Collier re-signed with the Minnesota Lynx on a one-year supermax contract Thursday, keeping one of the WNBA’s top players with the franchise that drafted her.
The deal is worth $1.4 million under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, according to ESPN.
Collier, a five-time All-Star, averaged 22.9 points and 7.3 rebounds last season while leading Minnesota to the league’s best regular-season record. The forward finished second in WNBA MVP voting for the second consecutive year.
The 29-year-old missed part of last season with ankle injuries and underwent surgery on both ankles during the offseason.
Collier was selected by Minnesota with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft and has become the centerpiece of the franchise. She has earned Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and multiple All‑WNBA honors.
