Rickie Fowler is one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour.

The 37-year-old pro has six PGA victories and $55 million in career earnings. Though he twice finished second, Fowler has never won a major.

Still, Fowler’s engaging personality and bold fashion choices, including orange on final-round Sundays, have endeared him to golf fans.

On Friday, April 17, Fowler competed in the second round of the RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

He approached the par-3 14th hole at 7-under par. The PGA Tour’s post on X showed what happened next.

Fowler’s shot on the 172-yard hole turned out just about as perfectly as possible, except that it didn’t go in.

The high-arching ball landed just onto the green, took three bounces and rolled straight toward the cup. Then, the ball hit the flagstick and gently rolled to the left.

Fowler settled for a birdie to go 8-under. After the round, he was part of an eight-player group tied at 8-under, one behind Patrick Cantlay and six behind leader Matthew Fitzpatrick.

The RBC Heritage continues with the third round on Saturday and fourth round on Sunday. CBS provides the coverage at 3 p.m. ET each day. The rounds will stream on Paramount+.
