New details have surfaced about Avengers: Doomsday thanks to official footage, and what was included suggests there could be even more superhero teams than currently confirmed. The Phase 6 blockbuster is uniting not just all corners of the MCU but also the multiverse, with iconic heroes and teams from across Marvel’s cinematic history coming together to take on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Since the moment Marvel unveiled the official Avengers: Doomsday cast list, it’s been known that four superhero teams are present. Sam Wilson’s Avengers team, the New Avengers (formerly known as the Thunderbolts), the Fantastic Four, and a version of Fox’s X-Men team are all confirmed. But they also are not alone.

The massive ensemble includes major heroes from Wakanda, as well as Namor. Loki is also returning as the guardian of the multiverse. Plus, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers has been added to the mix after being held out of the initial announcement. That was one of many signals that there are more MCU characters who secretly participated in Doomsday’s production.

We’ve now learned of another thanks to the official Avengers: Doomsday trailer at CinemaCon 2026. The footage showcased a ton of exciting moments, but it also confirmed a new cast member. Ant-Man is shown kissing his daughter’s forehead, marking the announcement that Kathryn Newton’s Cassie Lang is back. Her presence has a major implication.

Cassie Lang Can Bring The Young Avengers Into Avengers: Doomsday

While Cassie has been around in the MCU since Phase 2, she was last seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as a teenage superhero. Marvel signaled that her days of saving people were just beginning by using The Marvels’ ending to tease her as a recruit for Ms. Marvel’s Young Avengers team.

Since that moment, there has been speculation about when the young heroes will assemble for the first time. Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars always seemed like logical options, with the teenage supes able to jump into a massive event and become endeared to a large audience who could support a team-up project afterward.

Now that Cassie is confirmed for Doomsday, she becomes the first Young Avengers-related character slated to appear. It would be surprising if this is the full extent of her role, with her only being included to remind audiences of Ant-Man’s emotional stakes in this fight.

The Russo brothers may have secretly pulled off the Young Avengers’ live-action debut with Cassie and other members teaming up at some point in Doomsday’s narrative. Should that be the case, then the Young Avengers will become the fifth superhero team featured in the crossover event.

Which Young Avengers Could Join Cassie In Avengers: Doomsday

If the Young Avengers are assembling in Doomsday, Cassie will need at least a few of her teammates to join her. The two most obvious candidates to appear are Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).

The Marvels made Kamala the mastermind behind creating a team of younger heroes. Kate was the first person she visited, but she also confirmed to have feelers out with other candidates, including Ant-Man’s daughter. Since Kate appeared to be receptive to Kamala’s team-up pitch, the two of them could have then helped convince Cassie to join.

The three of them could be enough to act as the first Young Avengers group, but they could also be joined by heroes like Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), or Wiccan (Joe Locke). At the moment, it would seem like more of a long shot that Skaar, Speed, Love, and other potential Young Avengers characters would be part of the initial roster.

Any appearance by the Young Avengers team in Avengers: Doomsday would be quite exciting after over a decade of Marvel teasing them. They probably won’t have too large a role in the narrative if they do appear, but bigger days are ahead.
