Botafogo have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to sign Neto.
The 36-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper is scheduled to fly to Rio de Janeiro on Monday night and undergo a medical before completing the proposed move.
It will not involve a transfer fee but as one of Bournemouth’s highest earners the Premier League club will make significant salary savings.
Neto’s contract was due to end next June, and he is set to join Botafogo on a deal until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend by six months.
Botafogo are seventh in the Brazilian top flight.
The former Fiorentina and Valencia goalkeeper joined Bournemouth from Barcelona in the summer of 2022. He departs the club having kept 13 clean sheets in 63 appearances.
During the 2023-24 season, Neto made 32 Premier League appearances, after making 27 appearances the season prior.
The one-time Brazil international spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Arsenal, where he made just one appearance.
In July, Bournemouth completed the signing of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea. The 25-year-old signed a five-year deal.
