David Muir has earned himself a shady nickname after an episode of his ABC World News Tonight show that aired on Tuesday, April 21.
Each day, clips from David’s show are shared on the official World News Tonight page on X (formerly known as Twitter), allowing viewers to share their opinion on important news stories. A segment from the 52-year-old television star’s latest show on April 21 focused on a “deliberate” car crash in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“And to the alarming scene of a driver smashing into police headquarters, multiple people in the lobby struck,” David reported before he introduced another ABC correspondent to deliver the details. This comes as David recently shared a rare social media update admitting his “face hurt” after watching Fallen Angels.

Detailing the breaking news, the X caption explained, “Video shows a car crashing through a police headquarters in Philadelphia, which the commissioner called an ‘absolute deliberate act.’ Police responded to a domestic dispute earlier in the day involving the suspect and his father. @RhiannonAlly has details. abcnews.com.”
In response to the post, one viewer wrote, “Was it really necessary to show the video FIVE TIMES? David Muir is quite the ‘drama queen!'” The commenter pointed out that David replayed footage of the crash multiple times on-air.

Late last week, David reported on the arrest of R&B singer D4vd in connection with the murder of Celeste Rivas, a 14-year-old girl whose body was found stuffed inside the trunk of his Tesla.
The segment from the World News Tonight aired on April 17 and showcased dramatic footage obtained by TMZ of when Los Angeles Police Department officers walked a handcuffed 21-year-old D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, through the streets of the Hollywood Hills on April 15.
“Video tonight showing the tense moments as he was taken into custody and authorities on how long that victim was in the trunk,” David said last Friday, adding, “Tonight dramatic video captured by TMZ showing the tense moments LAPD officers arrested singer David on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl who had been found dead in the trunk of his car.”
