SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is encouraging you to get rid of expired and unwanted prescription drugs as it holds National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25.
The agency holds two take-back days each year. According to the DEA, there are collection sites throughout the country where people can safely discard prescription drugs they don’t need to ensure the medication is not abused or sold.
Though Saturday is officially the national take-back day, people can safely discard their prescription drugs at any time. Many police stations and drug stores have boxes for safe disposal.
