MADISON, Wis. — If March is anything to go by, it’s going to be another strong year for the Dane County Regional Airport.
The airport, which set an all-time passenger record in 2025, recorded more TSA screenings in March 2026 than any previous March. The total 123,795 screenings include roughly 9,200 employee screenings.
“Our community continues to embrace Dane County Regional Airport and I want to thank the TSA team who showed up every day and helped make this record-breaking March happen,” Dane County Executive Melissa Agard said in a statement. “Keeping our airport moving supports local businesses and builds long-term prosperity for Dane County and the surrounding communities.”
The record-breaking March was boosted by Spring Break travel, but also came at the same time that TSA workers went without pay because of an extended partial government shutdown.
