Hold up—it’s been 10 years since the release of Lemonade?
If you can believe it, Beyoncé’s seminal, history-making sixth studio album celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday, which Queen Bey commemorated with a rare update on her personal Instagram account.
“Cheers to ten years!” the Grammy winner wrote in her caption. “With love and deep gratitude 🙏🏽🍋🐝.”
In the celebratory slideshow, Beyoncé is seen standing by the beach in some sandy-hued separates, including a long-sleeve wrap top and a pair of wide-leg slacks. At the waist, her shirt is cinched with a brown leather belt, and she accessorizes the look with golden hoop earrings, oval-shaped sunglasses, and a multicolored flower crown.
As she stands by the shore triumphantly pumping her fists in the air, the Destiny’s Child alum holds a bottle of SirDavis in one hand (the whisky brand she founded) and three lemons in the other, which acted as a wink to her iconic album title.
However, fans were quick to realize that the three lemons may have also been a nod to Act III, the final part of Beyoncé’s musical trilogy that she announced back in 2022, which has so far included the albums Renaissance (2022) and Cowboy Carter (2024).
As she prepares to co-chair the Met Gala for the first time next month, it seems like the perfect opportunity for Beyoncé to begin the rollout for her highly-anticipated ninth studio album. Did this anniversary post double as a subtle Easter egg? We’ll just have to wait to find out.
