The Woodlands Country Club is going to look a lot different in the next two years. 

A $30 million investment by Arcis Golf, which purchased the private golf club last May, is underway. The Woodlands Country Club underwent $15 million in renovations over the past six years under previous ownership to add pickleball courts and upgrade the clubhouses. But now, both the Tournament Course and Player Course will be restored and off-course offerings will be upgraded.

According to the Houston Business Journal, the Player Course’s renovation will include the restoration of original green contours, rebuilt bunkers with modern liners and fairway adjustments to improve playability.

The Tournament Course’s renovation, led by Beau Welling Design, is already complete—just in time to host to the annual PGA Tour Champions’ Insperity Invitational on May 8-10, which will feature its deepest field in its 20-year history. It features rebuilt greens, replanted putting surfaces, resurfaced and expanded tees, repaired cart paths and bridges and trimmed pond edges. Some trees were also selectively removed. 

The off-course offerings will also step it up a notch.

“While restoring championship golf was a critical first step, the evolution of the clubhouses is what truly brings the vision full circle,” Arcis Golf CEO Blake Walker said in a release. “From the courses to the social spaces, fitness and dining, every investment we’re making is about creating a more connected, welcoming, and enduring club environment.”

All of the clubhouses will be renovated and include upgraded food and beverage offerings. The Tournament Clubhouse, the renovation for which will begin this summer, will introduce a re-imagined bar, fitness and social spaces. The club will transform its “Hall of Legends” into a more modernized gallery while offering private dining and lounge areas for intimate meetings and celebrations. 

The two-level Tournament Terrace will feature more views, fireside seating and lounges.
