One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened Monday night on Rigel Road near 204 Century 21 Drive after officers were called out to the area for a reported burglary around 11:30 p.m.
JSO says the suspect kicked in the door of four homes and was armed with a gun.
All of the homes were occupied and there were children in at least one home.
According to JSO, surveillance video shows the suspect approached officers in the driveway and pointed the gun at them. Four officers shot and killed the suspect.
JSO hasn’t released the name of the suspect, but they say he was in his 30s and was a convicted felon with an arrest record in both Texas and Florida.
The State Attorney’s Office is investigating the case.
