The humanoid figure surprised photographers and guests as it left the hotel that houses A-listers before they leave for The Met.

The robot was seen rocking several poses ahead of fashion’s biggest night.
It appeared outside the celebrity-favorite hotel as stars prepared to head to the lavish event.
The Mark Hotel is one of the key pre-gala spots where guests are photographed before the event as many get ready or stay inside the venue.
While many fans assumed the robot would be making its way across the Upper East Side to walk the carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it never actually made its way there.

The Met Gala red carpet closed on Monday night with huge stars like Beyonce, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and more – though the robot was note amongst those posing for the cameras.
The robot quickly became one of the strangest early moments of the night.
The machine was identified as AGIBOT, a humanoid robot maker seen as a rival to Tesla’s robotics ambitions.
The surprise arrival added a high-tech twist to the usual parade of gowns, designers, and celebrity entourages.
