When will Jalen Williams return from hamstring injury for Thunder in playoffs?

When the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the postseason, don’t expect to see Jalen Williams right away.

Williams suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain on April 22 during the opening round series against the Phoenix Suns. He missed the final two games of the series, which Oklahoma City won, 4-0. He was officially ruled out for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Lakers, who are playing without Luka Dončić.

As of Monday afternoon, Thunder coach Mark Daigneault described Williams as “week-to-week” with this injury.

However, according to InStreetClothes.com, the average recovery time for this kind of strain is 12.4 days. Game 1 marks 13 days since the injury occurred.

With that in mind, he is potentially nearing a return to action for the Thunder, which is great news for their odds of repeating as back-to-back NBA champions.
